OOC: About Malikah.
The main events of the game's storyline remain the same for Malikah's universe, and Malikah herself has a personality and backstory that's nigh-identical to her canonical counterpart. However, the cast dynamics do have a couple of modifications, ranging from minor to WTFmate.
❢ The most significant change is that Malikah becomes Hubert's eventual love interest, instead of Pascal. Why? Because [rambly explanation involving an analysis of Hubert's character redacted] I am always up for flinging Hubert headlong into awkward situations, and shifting his love interest from Pascal to the Captain would definitely do it. Keep on failing in your love life, Hu-chan!
❢ With Hubert's romantic attentions focused on Malikah, Pascal ends up playing the role that Malik did in canon, alternating between mentoring Hubert (in her unique Pascalian way) and teasing him about his crush. Malikah does still like to troll Hubert, but once she picks up on his infatuation with her (likely recognizing it before he does), she tones down most of her more...questionable...teasing out of respect for his feelings. Hubert's awkward love confession scene on Fodra in L&L still happens, but with Malikah as the target the overall tone is a lot more serious.
❢ Initially hostile to/jealous of Malikah's relationship with Asbel (and Asbel's high respect for her), Cheria eventually develops a closer affinity with Malikah, finding her to be (for the most part) a positive adult female role model, one that she's been lacking for most of her life. Similarly, the other girls in the party bring out Malikah's motherly side, or at the very least a big sister sort of side. Though Malikah is equally able to play the role of both Team Mom and Team Dad. Let's hear it for multitasking!
❢ Malikah is currently voiced by a toned-down Eda (Lisa Ann Beley) from Black Lagoon. You can check her out in episode 18 at 15:14-15:27, 18:40-19:55, and 20:28-21:20. (Warning for crude language, violence, and possibly also blasphemy since Eda's wearing a nun outfit while indulging in said crude language and violence.) Also, episode 16 at 17:11-17:38 and 17:52-18:14, episode 14 at 15:12-16:36, and episode 13 at 8:33-10:12.
Possibly more things and edits to come as they occur to me. :|b
